Carry-on tested, gate to gate
Gear built for the trip you actually take.
We design a small, deliberate catalog of packing systems and bags sized to fit under the seat in front of you — not a warehouse of things you'll check once and forget.
Considered materials
Ripstop nylon, full-grain leather, and recycled canvas — chosen for how they age, not just how they photograph on day one.
Sized to fit
Every bag is measured against the strictest major-airline carry-on limits before it ships.
30-day trial
Pack it for one real trip. If it doesn't earn a spot in your bag again, send it back.

The carry theory
Fewer things, chosen more carefully.
Most travel gear is designed to be sold, not packed. We started Carry Theory to work backwards from one constraint — everything has to fit in a single carry-on — and let that discipline decide what we make.
- Every product is tested across at least 10 real trips before it ships
- We'd rather discontinue a product than let it get worse
- No seasonal drops — the catalog changes when the gear improves, not on a calendar

"I've packed the same three cubes and the daypack for eleven trips now. Nothing else in my closet has that ratio of use to cost."— Dana R., verified buyer, purchased The Compression Set

Our approach
We only make what fits in one bag.
Carry Theory exists because most travel gear is designed for a shelf, not a trip. Every product we sell has to justify a spot in a 35-liter carry-on — including the carry-on itself.
How we build the catalog
We don't run seasonal collections. A product joins the catalog when it solves a specific packing problem better than what we already sell — and it's tested across at least ten real trips by people on our team before it ships, in whatever climate and airline policy they happen to be flying through that quarter.
That's also why the catalog stays small. Twelve products cover bags, packing organization, tech, and the handful of accessories that actually get used on every trip — not fifty variations of a packing cube in different colorways.
On materials: we default to ripstop nylon and recycled canvas for structure, and full-grain leather only where it earns its weight — trim, straps, and the passport wallet. Everything is chosen for how it looks after fifty trips, not one photo.
A note on how this store works. Carry Theory ships as a considered, small-batch model — we work with vetted manufacturing and fulfillment partners rather than holding warehouse inventory ourselves, which is what lets a two-person team run a focused catalog without the overhead of a large operation.
